Water Pitchers

Yet another digital painting.  I have been wanting to paint metallic surfaces, to study lighting.  After looking for images for quite some time, I still couldn't decide which one to choose.  I finally came across this blog, of artist Gregory Thielker.  I found a photograph of water pitchers that he had clicked at a place called Bhadwas, near Etah, Uttar Pradesh, India.  I immediately felt like making a digital painting of it.  So here it is.

Posting after quite some time!  This one is from the story of the Fox and the Crane, in which, the Fox invites the Crane over for lunch and serves him food in a flat dish. The Crane, because of his long beak, is unable to enjoy his meal.  So he decides to teach the Fox, a lesson.

Started drawing from a plastic airplane toy initially.  Turned out to be something else.  Done in GIMP, using a Wacom, in a little more than 26 hours.

Came to me as an early morning dream.  Couldn't get it exactly as I saw it, but somewhat close.  Hadn't thought of a title, until a colleague at work gave it a title, and I decided to keep it.  Done in GIMP, using a Wacom, in roughly about 7 hours.
